So what's Cleaver hiding?

Congressman Cleaver was recently quoted in the San Francisco Examiner in defense of Congressman Rangel's 37 minute rant on the floor of the house saying, "The message I hope everyone got out of it is that this can happen to them.”

As if Rangel was simply UNLUCKY enough to caught? Do all Congressmen cheat on their taxes? What is Cleaver saying here? Rangel avoided a full ethics investigation for YEARS and NOW he's being treated unfairly?

Just when I think Cleaver is finished saying dumb things, he opens his mouth again!

And he's not even running for office!

Few people understand health insurance and related laws better then Cary Hall. So when Mr. Hall received a lame letter from Congressman Cleaver concerning health care reform, he let Cleaver have it with both barrels in this KMBZ radio ad!

Money isn't EVERYTHING, but . .

The most recent quarterly campaign finance report on the Missouri 5th District race is downright unsettling. You can read the report here at Open Secrets:
Congressional Elections: Missouri District 05 Race: 2010 Cycle | OpenSecrets

The take-away message here is that Cleaver has received over six times more money in PAC (Political Action Committee) contributions than Jacob Turk has in TOTAL contributions! Turk has received NO PAC money, and NO Leadership PAC money from the Republican Party. They've decided that the 5th District belongs to Cleaver until the day he doesn't want it anymore. This is ridiculous thinking, especially in THIS election cycle!

Until such time as the Republican Party pulls it's head out of it's A$$ and wakes up, Jacob Turk is totally dependent on individual contributions from people like you and me to win this battle for Missouri's 5th District.

So here are two things we can do NOW to help ensure Cleaver is NOT reelected in November:

1. Make a contribution TODAY to Jacob Turk for Congress.

2. If you know any of "The Powers That Be" in the Republican Party, send them this image and tell them to WAKE UP and FUND their 5th District candidate!

The "Racism Narrative"

Really, what it all comes down to is blackmail. What else could you call it?
Citizen: "What you're doing is WRONG!"
Government: "Be silent or we'll call you a racist."
Citizen: "But I'm not a racist!"
Government: "When we say you are, everyone will believe us and the media will support our claims. So be silent, or else."

This is the racism narrative, and it's not fiction. It's the last tool in the toolbox when the other side can't win the argument with logic. Unfortunately, it's effective. It works like blackmail even if the accusation is false. It makes good people back down.

Did over a dozen people yell the "N"-word at Representatives Carson and Lewis on March 20, 2010? It sure doesn't look that way. But thanks to a willing media and the racism narrative, it's unlikely the truth will ever be widely disseminated.

So does all this really matter? Yes, it matters to us; the people who are paying attention, the people who care. The people who will vote.

This stuff writes itself

A few weeks ago I posted something that was making the rounds on Facebook that I found offensive. Here it is:
"May I offer this heartfelt prayer from a friend of mine... Dear Lord, In the past year you have taken away my favorite actor (Patrick Swayze), my favorite actress (Farah Fawcett), my favorite musician (Michael Jackson) and my favorite salesperson (Billy Mays). Just wanted to let you know my favorite TV and radio personalities are Bill O'Reilly, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, M Malkin and Sarah Palin. AMEN."

I posed the question; What kind of outrage would there be if somebody replaced the conservative leaders names in this post with liberal names?

Well, somebody tried it. Here's the post (and group):
"DEAR LORD, THIS YEAR YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTOR, PATRICK SWAYZIE. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTRESS, FARAH FAWCETT. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE SINGER, MICHAEL JACKSON. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT IS BARACK OBAMA. AMEN"

So, what's the reaction? The creation of a group titled, "Petition to remove facebook group praying for President Obama's death." To date this group has over 300,000 members.

Here are some of the most recent comments:
Absolutely! We don't want our forum defaced and poisoned by these hatefull people. Please FB block them permanently!

So called Christians should not pray for anyone to be taken, do some think its just funny, WELL IT IS NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WISHING FOR SOMEONE'S DEATH IS JUST PLAIN CRAZY!!!

Interesting, isn't it. To date there is NO Facebook group calling for the censoring of the anti-conservative "joke."

Surprised? You shouldn't be.

The "Invisible" Double Standard

Invisible to liberals, that is. Here's a Facebook post that's been making the rounds among the liberal base:
"May I offer this heartfelt prayer from a friend of mine... Dear Lord, In the past year you have taken away my favorite actor (Patrick Swayze), my favorite actress (Farah Fawcett), my favorite musician (Michael Jackson) and my favorite salesperson (Billy Mays). Just wanted to let you know my favorite TV and radio personalities are Bill O'Reilly, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, M Malkin and Sarah Palin. AMEN."

To date, I've heard no outcry from the media about violent left-wing Christian extremists praying for God to kill conservative leaders. Now this begs the question, what would the reaction be if the last six names in this post were changed to liberal Democrat leaders?

Oh, but this is just a joke, right? Sure, it's a joke when they do it. When we say things half as inflammatory we're tagged as "haters" and/or "racists" who are a dangerous threat to the very survival of the country.

It's oppression, clear and simple, and we should call it that every time we see it.

Is this REALLY Cleaver-country?

Are there really a substantial majority of liberals living within these boundaries?

Or do we all just throw up our hands and accept it when somebody like Wayne Godsey, KMBC President And General Manager, says something like ". . U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, whose district is unlikely to vote him out of office."??

Why? Who says? Oh yeah, I forgot . . we should just shut up.

No SP*T

Too late for threats

It's understandable that Cleaver and other Congressmen are receiving threats of violence (real or imagined) these days. After all, a clear majority of their constituents were dead-set against the health care bill they just passed; what did they expect? Violence and/or threats of violence, however, won't repeal the bill. So everybody, calm down and lets focus on things we CAN do to fix this. Here's my personal wish list:

    1. Elect conservatives to Congress who pledge to repeal this bill.

    2. Work toward denying pensions and benefits for the outgoing Congressmen.

    3. Investigate, prosecute and jail members of Congress who threw their oath to uphold the Constitution into the trash (right along with the Constitution itself) when they voted for this Obamanation.

YES WE CAN!

Hey Big Spender!

According to POLITICO.COM, our honerable Congressman Cleaver spent $2,900 PER MONTH in the last quarter of 2009 to lease a car! That comes out to $34,800 a year in taxpayer money! The vehicle in question is reportedly handicap-accessible, WiFi-enabled and runs on cooking oil.

The car is used in leu of a second office; a mobile office of sorts. A very expensive, french-fry-smelling mobile office. No word on just exactly what kind of car this is, though. Your guess is as good as mine. But if the Congressman thinks he's saving the taxpayers money with this, think again!

Steve Kraske: Matchmaker

Yesterday, KC STAR political correspondent and KCUR talk-show host Steve Kraske brought in both Democrat Congressmen Emanuel Cleaver and Dennis Moore to talk with him on his "up/to/date" radio show. The discussion is enlightening and frightening, if you can remain awake and alert through it all.

On the Jobs Bill . .

Likely to be voted on tomorrow in the House, the philosophical differences over just how employment is stimulated are being brought to light by the Jobs Bill. The key question is, can government "create or save" any jobs beyond just GOVERNMENT jobs? Despite evidence to the contrary, the more liberal faction of the Democrat Party (including our own Congressman Cleaver) believes that spending government money (OUR money) creates jobs. And they're upset that this bill doesn't spend ENOUGH.

The other side of the aisle and more conservative Democrats believe that tax cuts stimulate economic growth and thus create JOBS. This approach has worked every time it's tried.

Here's what Rep. Cleaver thinks about it:

"If it’s a tax credit bill instead of a jobs bill, then we will have some hesitation voting for it,”

In other words, if this bill has any chance of WORKING, Rep. Cleaver is against it.

Was this trip REALLY necessary?

A follow-up story by CBS News relieved the recently released expenditures report for the boondoggle to Copenhagen for the pointless "Climate Change" Summit. Our Pal, the "Honorable" Congressman Cleaver felt his presence was essential. He spent a total of TWO DAYS in Denmark at a cost to us, the taxpayers, of $4,406. And that's not counting airfare!

Total cost to taxpayers for this entire junket . . well over $1.1 million!

If you're like me and think all this is a huge waste of hot gas, you know what to do in November!

You can read the entire expenditure report HERE.

And you can listen to KCMO 710 morning radio host Chris Stigall talk about it HERE.

Cleaver in Copenhagen?

It should come as no surprise that when there's something completely pointless and wasteful going on, our own Congressman Cleaver will be there. Still I have to admit my jaw dropped a bit when I heard his name on this evening's CBS News broadcast as one of the 17 congresspeople who decided their presence was essential to the Copenhagen climate debate and flew there on OUR tab! Hope you had a great time Congressman Cleaver! Ten more months and you're OUT!
